How Guide Transfer works
1. Buyer and seller agree to terms
Both parties agree to terms of the transaction, which includes a description of the vehicle, sale price, number of days for the Buyer's inspection, and any shipping information. Either the Buyer or Seller signs in to Guide Transfer and creates a transaction. If either the Buyer or Seller is not a registered user, they must register with Guide Transfer. Registration is free. The initiating party defines the terms of the transaction and provides information about the vehicle. This information includes:
* E-mail address of the other party
* Length of inspection period
* Party responsible for paying the escrow fee
* Delivery options
* Shipping costs
The initiating party confirms the information entered, and agrees to the escrow instructions. The other party is notified by e-mail, to sign in and agree to the terms of the transaction provided by the initiating party. After both parties have agreed to the terms, the Buyer will be asked to submit payment to Guide Transfer.
2. Buyer pays Guide Transfer
The Buyer submits an available payment option. Guide Transfer verifies the payment. Processing time varies by payment method. When payment is received, it will be verified and secured into a non-interest bearing trust account. After payment is secured, the Seller is notified by Guide Transfer to ship the vehicle to the Buyer.
3. Seller ships vehicle
Upon payment verification, the Seller is authorized to ship vehicle and submit tracking information if available. Guide Transfer verifies that the Buyer receives the shipment. The inspection period will not begin until Guide Transfer has confirmed delivery of the vehicle or the Buyer marks the vehicle as received on the transaction screen.
4. Buyer accepts the vehicle
The Buyer has a set number of days for an inspection and the option to accept or reject the vehicle. For more information, FAQs - Return Questions. When the Buyer accepts the vehicle or the inspection period expires (at which point, the Buyer automatically accepts), the disbursement of payment will begin. Please note that Guide Transfer may perform additional verification before funds are released. Payment is sent to the Seller with escrow fees and shipping costs deducted, if applicable.If the buyer rejects the car, he must notify Guide Transfer and then ship the car back to the seller. Once the seller has confirmed the car, Guide Transfer will refund the payment in full and the seller is responsible for the returned shipment.
5. Guide Transfer pays the seller
Guide Transfer pays the seller and the transaction is complete.
